iCloud sync

iCloud sync is the easiest option when you use Apple devices and want the operating system to handle the sync transport.

When to use it

Use iCloud sync if:

  • Your active devices are mostly iPhone, iPad, and macOS
  • You already use the same Apple ID on those devices
  • You want a native Apple sync path with little configuration

Setup checklist

  1. Sign in to iCloud on each Apple device.
  2. Enable iCloud Drive and app data sync in system settings.
  3. Open Mindwtr on the first device and enable iCloud sync.
  4. Let the first sync finish before enabling it on the next device.
  5. Open Mindwtr on each device and confirm the same projects and next actions appear.

Troubleshooting

  • Confirm the same Apple ID is used on each device.
  • Confirm iCloud Drive is enabled.
  • Keep Mindwtr open long enough for the first sync to complete.
  • Use manual sync after making a test task.
  • Export a backup before resetting local data.

Mindwtr is free, open source, and local-first.
