AI assistant
Mindwtr includes optional AI features for people who want help clarifying tasks, summarizing notes, or working with their system through a language interface.
When to use this
Use AI features when they save effort after capture. Do not use them as a replacement for deciding what your commitments mean.
Good uses:
- Turn a vague inbox item into a clearer next action
- Summarize a long note
- Suggest a project outline
- Ask questions about your current task data
Privacy model
AI is opt-in. Core capture, task editing, GTD workflow, and sync do not require AI.
Provider choice matters
If you connect a remote AI provider, the content you send is handled by that provider. Use a local model or avoid AI features when task content is sensitive.
Setup checklist
- Choose a supported AI provider or local model path.
- Add credentials through the app settings or local environment supported by your platform.
- Test with non-sensitive sample data.
- Keep AI disabled for workflows where you do not want data sent outside the device.
Keep capture simple
Mindwtr intentionally keeps Inbox capture simple. AI is a power feature, not the main product pitch.
